Hi!!! from Charters Towers (North QLD)

Hi Everyone!

Im Tash and me, my husband and our kids live about 1/2 hour from Charters Towers on 100 acres (give or take).

We raise commercial chooks for a living and also breed purebred chickens, but can never keep up with demand for the purebreds but we try!  We also make the best goats milk soap using milk from our own goats. Between the 2 and various other dabblings, we make enough $$ for both of us to stay at home full time, with some sacrifices of course (yeah, drinking Jim Beam instead of Jack Daniels lol)

Our main aim is partial self sufficiency, as much as we would love to try for 100%, its a bit too overwhelming right now) mainly in food, we grow some of our own veggies, we have pigs, cows, chickens (derrr lol), ducks, turkeys, goats (which we use the milk to make soap) and.......nope, thats it.

We are happy go lucky people, always ready for a chuckle and a chat and look forward to getting to getting to know everyone.

Cheers

Tash & Aaron

Hi Tash,

Great to hear about your farm and self sufficiency. You guys are an inspiration to other small farmer's who are trying to be self sufficient and make a living off their land.

Where do you sell (online) your goat milk soap, they sound interesting?

Also, are you looking for anyone to contract grow pure bred chickens for you, I'm sure some members of this site may be interested.

If not, could you provide me some info on how I might get started in this type of enterprise.

Thanks, Mary.
