- Description: I am looking to purchase a property in the snowy mountains regions preferably just outside of Jindabyne, the main reason is to hand onto my kids in years to come. I’m looking at 50 acres plus, preferably with river frontage. What can I farm on the land as not to run a negative cash flow, I want the land to be able to pay for itself with a little extra for upgrading and maintenance in years to come and to also pay for a part time caretaker. The property will not be permanently occupied hence I don’t think livestock is the way to go. What can I grow that is low maintenance, able to survive cold winters high altitude circa +900m, relatively easy to harvest but can give a decent annual return (or am I just dreaming). I was thinking along the lines of a hazelnut plantation or cherry's, other fruit trees, or grapes? I would be happy to employ part time employees to help the caretaker of the property. Any advice help would be greatly appreciated.

- Description: My Daughter has a Property with 2 x 35 acre paddocks, plus a 20 acre house paddock in around Lameroo S.A. How many head of miniature cattle per acre would be viable on a rotation of the two larger paddocks? Watering would be by trough from a bore.
